Post-invitation workflow

The tracker answers the three questions that matter after the invite.

Job Search helps you scan many roles. Application Tracker keeps the active pipeline calm once a company has invited you forward.

See how the funnel is converting

The pipeline strip shows Invited, Screen, Interview, and Offer so you can see where the search is moving and where it is leaking.

Know where every deal stands

Use the board for stage-by-stage scanning or the list when you need a dense view of companies, roles, scores, dates, and statuses.

Do the one next thing

Each active application carries a next action, stale warning, and next-round affordance so the few companies that matter do not drift.

Pipeline conversion

See whether interviews are advancing or stalling.

The conversion strip shows counts, percent of invited, and median time between stages. Low conversion and long waits are visible without turning the search into a spreadsheet.

Board or list

Scan the pipeline as a board, then switch to a dense list when you need detail.

Board view keeps the stage model obvious. List view adds sortable next actions, scores, and dates when you need to compare active deals quickly.

Next action

Every card should tell you what to do next.

Stale deals are not just colored differently. They get text labels like stuck 9d, follow up, or no upcoming round so the signal is clear and accessible.

Stuck 9d - follow up
Screen tomorrow - prep recruiter notes
+ next round after hiring-manager invite
Offer received - compare package
No upcoming round - confirm timeline
Closed - keep notes for pattern review

Canonical stages

Four columns, with interview rounds inside the Interview stage.

Recruiter, hiring manager, panel, and executive conversations are round types. They do not become extra board columns, so the pipeline stays readable.

Invited

The company has invited you forward. Confirm logistics and get the first screen scheduled.

Screen

Recruiter or initial screen is active. Track follow-up, timing, and the next decision point.

Interview

Hiring-manager, panel, executive, and other rounds live here as metadata, not extra columns.

Outcome

Offer is separated from Closed so wins stay visible while old deals quiet down.

Application Tracker FAQ

What is an application tracker for job search?

An application tracker is a workspace for active opportunities, statuses, dates, follow-ups, and next steps. In Job Seeker OS, the tracker is focused on the post-invitation pipeline: the few companies that have moved from job search into real interview motion.

Is this for every job I might apply to?

No. Job Search is where you triage many jobs quickly. Application Tracker starts once a company invites you forward, so the view stays focused on high-stakes opportunities that need careful follow-up.

What stages does the tracker use?

The canonical stages are Invited, Screen, Interview, and Outcome. Outcome groups Offer and Closed, while recruiter, hiring-manager, panel, and executive rounds live inside the Interview stage as round metadata.

How does Job Seeker OS decide what I should do next?

The tracker derives the next action from the current stage, upcoming rounds, follow-up status, and stale thresholds. Active deals without movement surface a clear nudge, such as follow up or add the next round.

Can I use a board and a list?

Yes. The board is built for pipeline scanning, while the list gives a denser view for sorting, filtering, searching, and comparing applications.
